Staycation in Changi Village Hotel (Dec 2012)

This happens in early Dec 2012. We had purchase a voucher for $178 for a room with the following benefits:

$178 for a 2D1N stay in a Deluxe Room at Changi Village Hotel which includes 2 International Buffet Breakfast + Late Check-Out up to 4pm + 25% off lunch and dinner at Saltwater Cafe (Worth $527).

They even arrange for an extra bed.
The wish is to spend an idling weekend from all the bustling of the season.

The room was clean and big enough for the 4 of us.

The swimming pool was on the 7th floor, the roof-top. It has a platform in the pool just beside the edge that you can lie on. There is a jacuzzi at one side.

We did not eat in the hotel as there are many eateries at Changi Point. Too bad the hawker centre with the famous nasi lemak is under renovation.

Breakfast was for 2, so JunXian and I ate

We took a walk along the boardwalk the next morning. Broadwalk - a leisurely 2.2 Km walk, starting from the bumboat terminal. At the end of the walk, fidn the busstop on the road and take a few busstop trip back to Changi point.

Lunch was at the eateries beside the hotel. Too bad, no tim-sum and prata until evening. We settled for Chicken rice and pasta.

A barber shop along Changi Village.

Hainan Homecoming Nov 2012 (Part 4 -final)

Day 7: Haikou to Huiwen
Today we made our way back to Huiwen via the MRT. We book the prenium seat as the difference is minimal.

The MRT station was like airport. There is even an immigration check. Your ticket bares your Passport number.

Premium seat means you have a partitioned space to yourselves.

We were greet at Wenchang station by our hosts. Next stop is the Wenchang Chicken Rice at Tanniu.

Need to replicate this dip in Singapore. Too bad, no chilli.

Notice the difference, one is the cock and another the hen. Don't ask me which is the right one.

On our way back to Huiwen, notice this lopsided truck by the side of the road.
Immediately after taking this picture, our ride was 'brushed' by a lorry at the side.
We made it back to Huiwen in a cab. And a coconut feast awaits.
The guys also had a run on the scooter....without helmets.
 Look at her expression!
Dinner that nite was good. We had pumpkin with clams, garlic crab and hand-tear bake chicken.

 Nite entertainment.

Day 8: Huiwen
Today is a day of leisure. We took time to visit the dancing school, as well as the local dance club.
Start with a local breakfast, fried noodles.
A local coffeshop on a sunday morning.

Our hosts' daughter in dance class.
Lunch was sumptous, as usual.
We visited some more relative that afternoon.

JunXian finally have a go on the scooter.
A relative on my mother's side had a coffeeshop.
 Snack galore!

 Another round of firecracker.
Our dinner on the last nite.
After dinner, we had some fun with the kids....and it involves everyone, even the neighbours.

 The local dance club.

Day 9: Huiwen to Singapore

We come with 80kg, and is going back with 130 kg. We got thru with some help from friends at the airport.
We still have the uncooked Wenchang chicken in our fridge.

It was a nice holiday. Hope to do it again.
